About Me
I feel coaching is a way of giving back to the sport which I am so passionate. I have been playing since I was 15 years old and decided as I got older to become a coach to help pass along all the skills and knowledge I have learned through my playing career. Over the past 15+ years I have used many different coaching styles and techniques and have found some that work and some that do not. Every year is a learning experience for myself as well as the athletes I coach.

I am a true believer you need to teach the "game" of volleyball along with the technical skills required to play. I spend time with my athletes teaching the game in an effort to increase their overall volleyball IQ. Understanding the game makes the game easier to play as it slows it down to a manageable pace. This becomes crucial as players become older and start playing at the higher levels.

So why do we play volleyball in school, club, open gyms or etc. Because the game is FUN! We all keep playing because we truly enjoy the sport. As a player this is why I'll be playing well into my 70s. As a coach I never forget this and remind my players all the time "work hard but don't forget to have fun". Hard work is tough but the results are FUN!
