Coaching at Top Flight is not a job to me, it is more like working with family! I live in Yorkville and you might think that an hour drive is a long drive to coach at Top Flight. There are plenty of other clubs within 5 - 15 minutes from my house and that I could coach at, but I must tell you, I really love coaching at Top Flight and that is a huge reason I make that drive to practice 2 - 3 times a week! Sean and Cindy make this feel more like a family than a job, and that is a huge reason why I coach at Top Flight. Their philosophy and what they want to do not only with regards to improvement in volleyball and life skills, but truly caring about each and every kid that passes through Top Flight is something that I believe in as well. I am truly blessed to be able to call them both great friends and I love being a part of the Top Flight family, and have been here for 10 years now! I cannot recommend Top Flight enough not only for players, but for those that would want to coach as well!

I’ve coached at Top Flight for several years, and what keeps me coming back is the environment they’ve created for the kids. The facility is incredible, the coaching staff knows the game, and there’s always an energy in the gym that makes kids want to be there.

What I appreciate most, though, is how much the owners and coaches genuinely care about the players. It’s competitive, and we want to win, but it’s also about teaching the game, building confidence and making sure the kids are having fun.

As a coach, I get to watch players come in at different levels, work hard, make friends and become better players along the way. That’s what club volleyball should be, and it’s why I enjoy being part of Top Flight.

I’ve spent a good portion of my adult life coaching volleyball, and over the years I’ve had the opportunity to be part of several different clubs—some for a very long time. Because of that, I know how important the culture of a club can be, not only for the players and families, but for the coaches as well.

My transition to Top Flight has been nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, respected, and valued. What has meant the most to me, though, are the relationships I’ve already started to build. I’ve connected with incredible players and families, and I’ve also developed great relationships with the coaches I have the privilege of working alongside.

After coaching for so many years, you learn that volleyball is about so much more than wins and losses. It’s about teaching young athletes how to work hard, compete, be accountable, support one another, and become better people along the way. Top Flight truly embodies so many of the same values and ideals that I have tried to teach my players throughout my coaching career.

Finding a place where those values are not only talked about, but genuinely lived every day, has made this transition incredibly special. I’m grateful for how I’ve been welcomed into the Top Flight family, excited about the relationships that continue to grow, and truly thankful to be part of a club that feels like such a great fit for who I am as a coach and what I believe coaching should be about.
